Charities

Hi there!! We're Kate and Andrew, this year's charity reps.

This year we’ve decided to support:

Changing Faces

Changing Faces is a UK-based charity which supports and represents people who have a facial or bodily disfigurement from any cause. It aims to enable people with disfigurements to develop high self-esteem and self-confidence. They fight for equal rights and opportunities and are in the process of launching a national media campaign which will challenge the way the public view disfigurement. Their three programmes: Individual, Professional and Society are designed to tackle the issue from all angles whilst also providing support and guidance for those with a disfigurement.

You can also "lend your face" to show support for face equality by uploading a picture to be part of their face collage!

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

MSF was started up in 1970 by a group of French doctors who were frustrated by government interference in the distribution of medical aid during the Nigerian civil war. They joined up with a group of journalists who shared their wish to speak out the plight of the victims. Together, the following year they founded MSF. The organisation started sending groups of medics to remote corners of the world, providing medical aid to victims of wars and natural disasters. Over time the organisation grew, employing more people in the countries where it worked. Now MSF has offices in 19 countries including the UK. In 1999, in recognition of its "pioneering humanitarian work on several continents", MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

We are proud to support this organisation as our international charity.
